Understanding the Seven Heads of The Beast

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1)The scripture of truth said that the beast that came out of the sea has seven heads. What are heads? What is the Word of Truth communicating? The scripture also said that all seven heads blaspheme. What comes to mind when you say the word blasphemy?

At the root of it all is a religious connotation, as in irreverence against God or religious sacrilege.

In other words, the Word said all seven heads did not reverence the true and living God. They worshiped but did not venerate God. They dishonored the God of heaven and earth in their worship. However, what are heads?

The expositors of the Word have made every effort to identify the wounded head, and they are correct when they identify it as the Roman Catholic Church or the Christian church.

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. (Revelation 13:3 KJV)

Christ is symbolized as the head of the church.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18)

The early church was admonished to know the doctrine they believed and that they should not waver between various doctrines. They were to grow up in Christ, who is the head.

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. (Ephesians 4:14–15)

The Word of Truth said that the beast or the territories of the former Roman Empire or the divided nations or the European nations have in them seven major religious organizations or state-sponsored religions. These religious organizations of the divided nations are in existence even today. These are the seven major religions of Europe or state religions. The Word affirmed that all seven heads or all seven major religions blaspheme the name of God. All seven heads or seven major religions went into great apostasy against the God of heaven, the true and living God, “and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”
