I was talking with someone
the other day whom I gave a free copy of my book “The Mark of the Beast” I inquire
whether they have read the book. They confessed no; because they are terrified of
reading the book of Revelation or about the book of Revelation. I then started
inquiring as I talked with Christians even devout Christians about the subject,
and many even the well-educated confessed they do not read the book of
Revelation for themselves.
I also found that many
people even those that do not read the Bible or go to church can quote some things
in Revelation even if they miss-quote. All Christians of all denominations know
about the Mark of the Beast. However they believe in all kind of theories about
the mark and the number. One thing is common among all is that there are consequences
for receiving the mark or the number of the Beast and the consequence are severe.
Maybe it is this fire and
brimstone about receiving the mark and the number of the Beast from the pulpits
why so many Christians are afraid of reading the book of Revelation for
themselves. Besides, the book is written with many metaphors and they are not
readily understood. The theologians have remove BEAST from the political realm
and have made it spiritual or religious. Therefore it becomes even more confusing to be
understood using that imagery.
